VisitEngland 4 Star Self-catering

All the national assessing bodies (VisitEngland*, VisitScotland, Visit Wales and the AA) now assess hotels and guest accommodation (including B&Bs) to the same criteria and award one to five stars.   • ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT Keld Head Farm Cottages are a group of nine stone built cottages set around a picturesque courtyard with large gardens. They are twenty minutes walk from the centre of town along a footpath. There is a large car park, which gives easy access to all the cottages.The whole site is level with no inclines and very few steps. Mill and Granary cottages are two storeys with internal staircases to one double and one twin bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over. Barn Cottage has two ground floor bedrooms, one double/one twin and a bathroom with a bath and shower over, however it is two storeys with an internal staircase with a door at the top, to the lounge/ dining room / kitchen and an external stone staircase to the courtyard. Pasture View is single storey and sleeps eight in four bedrooms, two-twin/two-king size. It has a family bathroom with a bath/shower over. Also an en-suite W/C and shower room with corner shower cubicle. The lounge/dining room/kitchen are open plan enabling easy access. It has its own level garden with garden furniture. Stables is single storey and sleeps seven in three bedrooms, one king size/one bunk room and one family room(I double/1 single bed). The bathroom has a bath with a shower over. There is also a W/C / washroom. It is accessed from the car park through a covered walkway into the courtyard and a short distance along a paved path. There is one step up into the cottage, for which a ramp can be supplied. The Smithy is single storey and sleeps two. The lounge/dining room/kitchen are open plan enabling easy access. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over; side transfer possible to the toilet. The bed can be a super king size or two singles. It has its own level garden with garden furniture. Pigeon Cote is single storey and sleeps five in two bedrooms – one double four poster with head/foot board and one family room (1 double/1 single bed.) The bathroom has a bath with a shower over. It is accessed from the car park through a covered walkway into the courtyard and a short distance along a paved path. There is one step up into the cottage, for which a ramp can be supplied. Wheelhouse ‘Mobility one category’ is single storey with one step up into the cottage for which a ramp can be supplied. It sleeps five in two bedrooms – one double four poster with head/foot board and one family room (1 double/1 single bed). The bathroom has a bath with a shower over; there are handrails both sides of the bath and one side of the toilet. A toilet frame can be supplied. There is a designated parking space in the car park a short distance along a paved path into the cottage. It has its own level garden with garden furniture. Byre ‘Mobility one category’. It is single storey with one step up into the cottage for which a ramp can be supplied. It sleeps five in two bedrooms – one double four poster with head/foot board and one family room (1 double/1 single bed). The bathroom has a bath with shower over; there are handrails both sides of the bath and one side of the toilet. A toilet frame can be supplied. It is possible to park outside the door of the cottage for loading/unloading. The car park is a short distance, through a covered walkway into the courtyard and along a paved path. The Garden House is accessed across the lawn and has one step onto the decking. We can provide cots, high chairs, bed guards, fireguards, baby monitors, toilet frames, non-slip shower mats and waterproof mattress covers. A commode and Wheelchair can be supplied if pre-arranged.
