I really don’t know where to start with this review as I feel I have been privileged to have been able to spend time in this unique and beautiful property.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long break in Yorkshire. I found The Dutch House through internet searching and was drawn by photos of the building, its location and setting as well as being guided by positive online reviews. I was not disappointed!

Directions and joining instructions were comprehensive and accurate. We drove straight to the location without difficulty.

This was the third stop on our week long holiday. I had done all of the bookings but I knew I had done well with The Dutch House as my wife’s first words when she opened the door were ‘Wow - you’ve saved the best ‘til last!’. This property really is stunningly presented - a blend of sympathetic restoration along with modern luxury and all to the finest standard. All of the expected facilities are provided plus the very well received welcome hamper. All rooms were clean and tidy. There is underfloor heating so the downstairs was cosy whilst the bedrooms were cooler making sleep comfortable. Furniture and fittings are reassuringly solid - no creaks or groans or soggy mattresses here!

The location is perfect for exploring the heart of York with everything being within walking distance. The Dutch House benefits from being in a residential street so there isn’t too much noise at night though you do have to get used to tourists staring at the house and taking photographs!

Off road secure parking is a real boon

If you are looking for somewhere luxurious in the heart of York and want a change from the hotels I can recommend The Dutch House without reservation.

Thank You for your review Mike, I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay at The Dutch house. When we purchased the Dutch house as a derelict building it was always our intention to renovate and make this a holiday home, to give visitors to the city the opportunity to be a part of it by having luxury accommodation in the heart of the City.
