    “ It wasn't for us! ”

Having experienced some great camping holidays with the family in the past I decided to return there to reminisce and relax for a week. Initial thoughts were that it was great to be back. I couldn't fault the overall site, the location or the staff but the apartment itself didn't meet our expectations.

We booked the Skye apartment as it looked wonderful on the website but the pictures proved a bit deceiving. Whilst the apartment was renovated to a good standard a few years ago, the accommodation lacks some basic planning.
    - I accept that it's very compact but the bathroom was ridiculously tiny! Never have I had to sit sideways on a toilet due to it facing a wall! The hot water also wasn't always plentiful so we had to stagger showers. There was also one tiny rail on which to hang a bath towel so my partner had to hang his bath towel over a door.
    - The cleanliness of the interior of the apartment was generally ok once I'd removed some pubic hairs from the bathroom floor and daddy long legs spiders and webs from the ceilings. The outdoor area of our patio was very grubby and littered with cobwebs hanging down.
    - The pine bed was uncomfortable and it was held up underneath in the middle by two pieces of loose wood (!!) which fell down as soon as we sat on it. We spent the entire holiday being worried that it would collapse. As a result of not sleeping well we had to resort to staying elsewhere on Monday 15th August and also leaving a day early!!
    - We had paid £30 extra for our dog to stay with us but had board her in kennels the day after we arrived as the floor of the apartment was so slippery for her. She fell over a number of times and we were concerned she would break a leg! Boarding Kennels meant an additional unexpected and unwelcome cost of £66 to our stay.
    - There was no phone reception, wifi or even 3G reception within the apartment. For us this was unacceptable. We both require access for work purposes and personal reasons.
    - The TV in the living room was fixed so high, almost on the ceiling that it became neck aching to watch.

In summary, having paid almost £600 for the week we left feeling very disappointed.
